On Thursday, parliament moved the Cabinet draft bill on occupational safety and health protection at work to the second reading. The draft contains a new sanction for failure to meet fundamental conditions to safeguard life and health protection of employees and self-employed individuals. According to the draft, the Labor Inspectorate will be able to propose revocation of a trade license or suspension of an individual carrying out a freelance profession in precisely specified cases. "This will address cases in which an employer or private individual who is self-employed and has no employees seriously violates legal requirements to ensure occupational safety and health protection in carrying out that trade," states the Labor Ministry's draft. Parliament also moved the draft bill on inland navigation and a draft on audit and inspection in the public administration to the second reading.
